Physician and entrepreneur Sam Shaheen, ’88, delivered the Commencement address and received an honorary doctorate at the Albion College commencement ceremony on Saturday May 5th. Currently serving as executive director of Medical Education Partners and professor of surgery at the College of Medicine at Central Michigan University, Shaheen is also president and CEO of Saginaw-based Shaheen Development, which initiated the development and construction of the Ludington Center and Courtyard Marriott hotel in downtown Albion. The hotel opened last month, following the January 2017 completion of Ludington. A member of Albion College’s Board of Trustees since 2011, Shaheen is also a founding member of the Albion Reinvestment Corporation.
