Shaheen Development was the developer for this landmark new building for the Dow Chemical Company in Midland, MI, which opened in June 2011. The 206,000 sq. ft., four story building and its accompanying 43 acre site was completed and occupied within only 11 months. This state of the art office building houses 1,200 employees from Dow’s Business Process division and includes tenant space for TATA Consultancy Services.
The facility was awarded a Silver LEED-NC (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the USGBC (US Green Building Council) along with a 2011 Building Michigan Award. The facility is an exciting example of green technology and planning from the design stage incorporating everything from storm-water management through to the highly efficient building shell, solar control and HVAC systems.
