BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) – Where once was an overgrown industrial complex now sets a multimillion-dollar development on Bay City’s storied waterfront.

Dow Corning and Chemical Bank were some of the first to move in alongside the Saginaw River’s Uptown Bay City development, but Shaheen Development Marketing Coordinator Stuart Kelly said those are just two of the 17 projects.

“Real Seafood opens May 6; that’s right behind me,” Kelly said. “On our first floor, we already have two businesses open – The Fix coffee shop and Uptown Grill, which is available for breakfast and lunch. The Courtyard by Marriott is being constructed; that will open this fall. We have a mixed-use commercial building that will open next year with restaurants and retail and office space, and we also have rental units that will be moving in this June.”
